Intent

At Valley Primary School, we recognise the significant role that technology plays in children’s lives today and how it will be an integral part of their futures. We aim to prepare our learners for their part as global citizens by giving them plenty of opportunities to gain knowledge and develop transferrable skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world. Our specially curated curriculum covers computer science, information technology and digital literacy and, in addition to this, we model responsible use of technology and how to navigate the online world safely. Computing will not only teach children about how digital systems work, programming and creating content, but it is a subject that can support learning in other subjects across the curriculum.
